Scott has been with Life Deck since 1986, and has helped create a fantastic company to work for and represent. With his extensive knowledge and experience, he has become a senior specialist in the coating industry, ensuring that every job is easy and hassle-free.
Jeff Marshall
Project Manager
Jeff has 33 years of experience in our industry. He has managed numerous residential and commercial projects, including the Manchester Grand Hyatt and Hotel Del Coronado. At Life Deck, he has honed his skills in solving leaky deck issues and delivering successful, attractive and decorative coatings.
Greg Driesen
Project Manager
Since joining Life Deck in 2005 as an installer, Greg has gained extensive hands-on experience with various coating options and processes. This experience has equipped him with the expertise to create durable and decorative designs. Notable projects he has worked on include Lincoln Military Housing, Loews Coronado, Wings N Things, and Broadstone of Coronado.

Jose started at Life Deck 10 years ago as a helper and worked his way up to Project Manager. Over the years, he has become an expert in decorative coatings and waterproofing, and he is here to help you find the best solutions for your project.
Chris Tapia
Project Manager
Chris is your go-to expert for waterproofing and pool deck coatings for multi-family and commercial properties.
With over 10 years of experience as an installer at Life Deck, Chris has honed his skills in concrete coatings and waterproofing. He later worked as an architectural representative for Westcoat in the Bay Area before returning to his hometown of San Diego, where he most recently served as a sales rep for Beacon Roofing Supply.
Shawn Halverson
Project Manager
Shawn has cultivated enduring relationships over his 26-year career in the concrete industry, establishing himself as an expert in his field. He brings vision, respect, and admiration to both the company and the industry. Shawn is dedicated to maintaining professional standards, ensuring high-quality work and a safe work environment.
Gary Lane
Installations Manager
Since joining Life Deck in 2004 as a helper, Gary has progressed to Crew Chief, Project Manager, and now Installations Manager. He oversees the crews and ensures they have everything needed for each project, leveraging his extensive field experience to support the staff effectively.

Since joining Life Deck in 2004 as a helper, Gary has transitioned through various roles, including Crew Chief and Project Manager. Currently, he serve as the Installation Manager, overseeing the crews in their installations. His extensive field experience enables them to assist the staff with the requirements of each project.

Erica Frost
Office Manager
Erica has been with Life Deck Coating Installations for 4 years and is really enjoying her time there. She LOVES helping people. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family, play golf, and hang out with her 4 sweet and loving cats!
Rachel Everett
HR/ Payroll Manager
Rachel is the HR/Payroll Manager, born and raised in San Diego, she originally worked in the restaurant industry but has a family background in construction. After earning her bachelor's degree in business management, Rachel joined Life Deck Coating Installations in 2017 as the Operations Assistant and was promoted to HR/Payroll Manager in 2019. She has enjoyed experiencing the company's growth and is grateful to be a part of it. When she is not in the office, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family.
Angela Soards
Chief Financial Officer
Angela Soards has been part of the Life Deck family since 2018. As CFO she is responsible for overseeing the talented office staff as well as all of the company’s financial functions. Angela’s career spans over 20 years of construction accounting experience.
Angela graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In her free time she enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with her husband and two rescue dogs.
Maria Duarte
Operation Support Administrator
Maria joined Life Deck in 2022, bringing with her an extensive range of administrative knowledge and understanding to help drive the business forward. As the Operation Support Administrator, she is responsible for accounts receivable, certificates of insurance, and contract administration.

In her off time, Maria loves taking her dogs to the beach and spending time with family and friends.
